3 Months!

I cant believe how fast time goes by. This semester of school is so busy, but not that hard. So that is nice. I graduate in April, but will be done with classes in June. I could have waited to graduate in December, but I just want to get it over with. I have 5 credits to take in spring, and I dont count it as school, since I am taking bowling, weight training, and Life Saving. haha! Those all sound fun, and it will be good for my sanity to get out of the house for an hour or so a day! I also will be carrying out my senior research, but I like what Im researching so it will be fun! All together done with scheduled classes in June, and then we are off for some major adventures....I will fill you in on that later when details are figured out. David is currently working at the high school and waiting on some possible filming gigs. That the update on us, but I know everyone wants the update on our lil miss! plus I need to write these things down for my own journal before I forget everything.

I cant believe Miya is 3 months already. She is really past the newborn stage, and is acting like a true baby. if that makes sense. She shows so much personality each day, and as new parents, everything she does has us ooooohing and awwwing. Snapping photos every hour. Its pretty funny. But we are crazy for this little girl! Here are some things she has been up to lately.
-Miya has figured out how to grab her feet and hold onto them for a while. David was watching her one evening while I was at class and she almost had them in her mouth. almost. hah
-She is figuring out new sounds she can make with her mouth, always making farty noises with her lips, sucking on her lips, making drool bubbles and cooing all the time. She is on the verge of laughter, and its so funny when she tries, she gets so excited that she will get the hiccups.
-She loves to sit in her bouncer and play with all the toys. she mostly smacks things with her hands, hasnt really grasped onto anything, intentionally. But she does love to just play with our hands when we hold hers.
-She gets really sick of lying down and just wants to sit up or stand on her feet.
-She has gotten a little emotional lately. David was on the phone the other day, and said something. For some reason it scared her so bad. she stared at David, and gradually got a SUPER pouty face, which escalated into crying. It was such a different cry, that ive never heard before. I think she is a sensitive little soul. Its happened more and more. Another time when the sister missionaries were peeking in at her in the stroller and awing at her, and she did the same pouty face and cry. So random.
-She loves looking at herself in the mirror.
-She drools A LOT. and is always chewing on her hands. She must have some teeth moving around. I better enjoy that gummy smile while it lasts!

there is probably more that I am forgetting, but that is good enough, before everyone rolls their eyes at the typical "new mom" =)

a little look at the pouty face and drool. hah!

The Bottle That Saved Me!

When Miya was refusing every bottle we gave her, my stress levels were through the roof! I was having to rush home between classes to feed her, and would be late to EVERYTHING! I did a lot of research on the internet and came across the MimiJumi, and I was very hopeful that it would work. I read all the customer reviews, and they were gave positive feedback. I decided to just buy it online (since they dont sell them anywhere in Hawaii.....not unusual) I even payed extra shipping to get it sooner. When it came, I made a bottle for David to feed her.....and it worked. She did not fight it one bit! HALLELUJAH!!! This seriously saved my life ;) I can go to school, go for surfs longer than 30 minutes, and much much more! I swear by this product and would recommend it to anyone...their baby that is ;) David and kept thinking, why dont they make ALL bottles like this, it just makes sense! The bottle top is soft and doesnt have that rubbery plastic feel to it! yay for MimiJumi!
And that is that!

One day she will rip it up on a surf board!! ;)

I was going through baby clothes today and realized that I had bought a swim suit last summer and it was a 3-6 month size. Realizing that Miya is already growing out of 0-3 size, I knew it would sort of fit her. And it did, perfectly. Since she looked so cute, we decided to put her leggies in the water. Tide was low in the backyard, so it was a perfect time.
Doesn't the wind in her hair fluffy hair so awesome! ;)

2 Months!

2 Month Stats
Weight: 12lbs. 12.5 oz. - 88%

Height: 24 1/2 incehs - 99%

Photo shoots always start out fun, she smiles for the camera, makes silly faces,

Then gets distracted with her feet or colorful prints on  her outfits, then gets mad because it takes too long! =)

Miya discovered her hands and feet. She loves her binky, but now realizes that if she loses it, she can suck on her hands. Sometimes I catch her double fisted. She is starting to get very restless if she is in the house too long. This is a little difficult, since I have lots of homework and school stuff to do, but as soon as we walk out side, she quiets down and is bright eyed as we walk on the beach or wherever. She loves walking around in the stroller. And I think she is ready for the bumbo seat because she is always wanting to sit up and hold her head up. We have had plenty of beach days, shade and umbrellas for Miya, and warm sunshine for me! =) She got smart about the difference between a bottle and Mom...(ugh, i think thats a whole different post) and we are working on it.
Last night after we got home from a town trip, I pulled her out of her car seat and I swear she got bigger since we left home. She is growing so fast, and Im just enjoying every minute.

Miya Update

This is about a month late, but here is her 1 month picture
Stats:
Weight: 10 lbs. 15.3 oz. - 91%
Height: 23 inches - 97%

Just a few tid bits about our babe:

Miya is such a good baby! People are alway telling us that she is very alert for her age. And she started cooing and smiling when she was only a month old! We are LOVING that! She sleeps pretty good at night, never cries, but makes her presence known by grunting and smacking her lips! Her hair seems to be getting longer, red, and fluffier! She has such funny hair after naps that makes us laugh! When ever she wakes up in her crib, she talks to her stuffed animals and especially likes the turtles about her crib! We are loving this little girl, as you can probably tell! =)
