I was going through baby clothes today and realized that I had bought a swim suit last summer and it was a 3-6 month size. Realizing that Miya is already growing out of 0-3 size, I knew it would sort of fit her. And it did, perfectly. Since she looked so cute, we decided to put her leggies in the water. Tide was low in the backyard, so it was a perfect time.

Doesn't the wind in her hair fluffy hair so awesome! ;)

Photo shoots always start out fun, she smiles for the camera, makes silly faces,

Then gets distracted with her feet or colorful prints on her outfits, then gets mad because it takes too long! =)

Miya discovered her hands and feet. She loves her binky, but now realizes that if she loses it, she can suck on her hands. Sometimes I catch her double fisted. She is starting to get very restless if she is in the house too long. This is a little difficult, since I have lots of homework and school stuff to do, but as soon as we walk out side, she quiets down and is bright eyed as we walk on the beach or wherever. She loves walking around in the stroller. And I think she is ready for the bumbo seat because she is always wanting to sit up and hold her head up. We have had plenty of beach days, shade and umbrellas for Miya, and warm sunshine for me! =) She got smart about the difference between a bottle and Mom...(ugh, i think thats a whole different post) and we are working on it.

Last night after we got home from a town trip, I pulled her out of her car seat and I swear she got bigger since we left home. She is growing so fast, and Im just enjoying every minute.

Just a few tid bits about our babe:

Miya is such a good baby! People are alway telling us that she is very alert for her age. And she started cooing and smiling when she was only a month old! We are LOVING that! She sleeps pretty good at night, never cries, but makes her presence known by grunting and smacking her lips! Her hair seems to be getting longer, red, and fluffier! She has such funny hair after naps that makes us laugh! When ever she wakes up in her crib, she talks to her stuffed animals and especially likes the turtles about her crib! We are loving this little girl, as you can probably tell! =)

I cant believe we celebrated 4 years on the 28th!! Im so grateful to be married to the most fun and loving husband! Cant wait for all the years to come!

This month, and ever since Miya was born, it has been crazy busy. I finished up yet another semester of school. It was a pretty tough semester having a baby and all. But I feel like I worked very hard and made it through with 4 A's and 1 B! I was so excited that I did well, because I thought I was going to Fail one of the classes! So what a huge relief!

David finished working hard, filming another year of the VansTripleCrownOfSurfing! It was a good year with lots of great waves! I never made it up, but I was one of the many who watched from their computer screen!

Because Miya is such a new baby, we decided to spend Christmas at home! I thought it would be really hard to be away from my family for the first time, but I had a lovely and cuddly distraction, and it was actually fun to be our own little family! I still missed every one though....;(

Since Hawaii feels like July all the time, we tried to get in the Christmas spirit in many ways.....

We went to the PCC and ate at the new restaurant and Christmas canoe ride! It was really cool, and it even snowed ;)

We Spent a lot of time in Town after the triple crown and school ended. Doing all our shopping, errands, doctors appointments, etc. So we made the trip to the lights and Christmas display! They have dozens of trees and wreaths decorated in different themes, and lots of other displays! We love going to check it out! I think we picked the most random themed tree to take a picture with..noodle themed?

Made some Christmas sugar cookies of course! Yum!

Lunar Eclipse

I had heard about the lunar eclipse that was going to happen, I figured that since I wake up 2-3 times to feed a baby, I may as well wake up one more time to see the eclipse! When I walked outside on Saturday morning at about 4:15 the moon was full and an orangey red color. It was a bit eerie, but very cool. I the moon change until it was almost back to normal! It was so awesome to see something rare and worth it.

When I started making this (about two years ago) I told myself that I would HAVE to have it completed by the time I had a baby. . . . Well, I finished it just in time, about a month before Miya was born! whew! It was a lot of work, but fun work! I think I would have had it done sooner, except I would run out of supplies, or money to get the supplies! Now it is complete!

41 weeks and Miya's Birth

11/11/11 came and went. My mom flew in that afternoon, and I just knew that this baby wasnt coming. I was getting so anxious and pretty sad that she didnt come on her awesome due date. Oh well. Then each day went by and I was getting more and more frustrated and upset. I had my 40 week doctors appointment on the following tuesday (11/15) and that morning I noticed a little leak.....I was worried that it could be amniotic fluid. But when I told my doctor, she checked me and used a test strip to see if it was amniotic fluid, but It came out negative. I was still suspicious though. She told me to try and have fun, be positive and enjoy this time I have left without a baby. But thats hard to do when all you want is for baby to come out!!! So I spent the week trying all sorts of self induction. I walked the beach from temple beach to goat island numerous times. I would get contractions following, but nothing consistent. I tried curbing, spicy thai food, jumping jacks, etc. I cant say I tried everything, because I refused to try the castor oil. BUT on Thursday I had an acupuncture appointment. The girl that worked on me spent an hour working on labor induction pressure points. David and my Mom watched and we all talked during the session. She was so awesome, and really knew her stuff. She told us that they arent even allowed to touch those pressure points on a pregnant woman unless her baby is full term. I tried to keep a very positive mind set, that THIS WAS GOING TO WORK!!!! Im having this baby soon! I Loved acupuncture and would recommend it to anyone! I felt great afterwards! Later that evening (sorry if this is too much information, but its all part of the story) we were playing cards at the table, and when I got up I realized that my pants were wet...like I peed my pants or something. But I for surely did not! =) I was a little worried, but tried not to think much since that test came out negative. Then it happened again in the middle of the night, and I began to have fairly consistent contractions. I thought it was nothing that important because they didnt even hurt. Just felt like Braxton Hicks. The next morning, my mom came over and I told her about my night and we talked to my sister over the phone. She told me that I should call my doctor because it sounded very suspicious. I was reluctant to call because I know they would tell me to come in, and would want to check me and then send me home. The hospital is more than an hour away....It did not sound fun to go all the way there and then get sent home. That would just send me over the top, and I would really lose my mind. But I ended up calling, and they did tell me to come in. When I got off the phone, David called me from work and said that the job he took at the high school was a mix up, and he was done for the day. I was thinking, wow that is perfect, maybe the stars are aligning I will have this baby soon. When David got home, I told him we were going to the hospital, and he replied saying that he wanted to do a photo shoot of me and my belly. UGH! he has been bugging me about it for the past two weeks, so I gave in and did it. We just went out on the beach and took some picture. They are pretty classic because I have a grumpy face in most of the pictures. Great documenting of my feelings that morning. We mozied around the house gathering our stuff together. I kept fighting the idea of going in, and was contemplating about not going. But I did. We got to the Birthing center around noon, and all the nurses were saying, “we were expecting you, and wondering where you were!” ....hah! oops! They took me to a room. The room had a view of the Ko’olau mountain range! It was pretty and the room was pretty big too. The nurse came in and asked me about 100 questions and hooked me up to monitor the baby and my contractions. I was worried that no contractions would even come, because they stopped as soon as I woke up that morning. After a few minutes I started having contractions. I had a freak contraction that lasted 5-7 minutes. We all watched the monitor and were cracking up. It didnt hurt, it was just uncomfortable in my ribs. The nurse said she has never seen anything like that before.

The nurse did a more extensive test to check to see if I was leaking amniotic fluid, It took about 10 minutes to get results. it came out slightly positive so they checked to see if I was dilated. and...... yep, I was dilated to almost a 4 and 50% effaced. I was not going anywhere! They admitted me to the hospital. I got so excited that it was finally going to happen. I would be holding a baby in my arms soon, and get to see what she looks like.

It was so weird though, that I was not experiencing any pain yet. They decided to start giving me a low dose of pitocin at 4. It really started to regulate contractions...but still not painful. Labor slowly progressed, and they kept increasing the amount of pitocin throughout the day. My water broke on its own at about 6 in the evening. My mom hung out with us until about 9, then drove home because it was going to be a long night. The nurses didnt think I would have the baby until morning. The contractions started to get painful by 10:00 pm, when my pitocin was at a 8. I was still dilated to a 4, almost 5, but wasnt making much progress. Gravity was going to help get the baby down, so I walked around the birth center, sat on a yoga ball, and those sorts of things. Then pitocin was moved to a 10. Thats when it REALLY started to hurt. I tried to see how long I could go without an epidural, but by midnight, I was begging for it. My body hit its threshold for pain, and I was shaking like a leaf, literally. I got the epidural. Life was good. I could still feel the contractions, with moderate pain. But I wanted it that way, so I could still feel what was happening. I was able to get a little bit of rest through the night, and my water completely ruptured. By 6 or so in the morning, I was dilated to a 9. All the nurses got the room ready for delivery. I pushed for 1 hour, but it felt like 5 minutes. I was so into it, that everything around me just became a blur. I was so focused on getting this baby out. She came at 7:41 a.m. After the head and shoulders came out, David helped deliver her and put her on my chest. I was shocked, she was so big. But beautiful and perfect! 10 fingers, 10 toes! everything was just right! I laid her on my chest and she instantly began latch onto me. It was such an amazing experience, and cant believe that Miya was finally here! The first few days was pretty brutal, and I stayed until monday afternoon, and took a week off from school (which was MUCH needed)! A lot of relaxing, feeding and bonding with my babe!

Miya is a sweet baby. Only occasionally cries. Sleeps 3 or more hours at a time. Is a great eater. Loves to cuddle. She is a great new addition and we are so happy she is apart of our family!

So Im 40 weeks along, and I don't know why I am smiling in this photo...11/11/11 due date was fun to say, and not a reality. oh well! But I just hope she comes SOOOOOON! Im trying to not get too crazy, and just embrace the the quiet life..before my world gets turned upside down. . .

Hawaii Baby Shower

I know this will be repetitive for most people, but I am writing mostly for journal purposes

Last weekend David and I got food poisoning pretty bad. At 3a.m I woke up to David throwing up. I went and checked up on him, feeling so sorry for him. I went back to bed and a within a few hours I started feeling it, and told David to scoot over and make room for me. It was the worst day ever, I slept all day, and wont go into anymore details......But at about 4 I started having contractions. They were about 2-3 minutes apart and I knew it was not good. I was able to stomach sips of Gatorade and water, but I knew I was so dehydrated. We called my doctor, and they told us that I needed to come in for an IV and monitor the baby. I was ready within minutes. I just put on sweat pants and a t-shirt.....but David on the other hand...took (what seems like) forever! He was picking out the clothes he was going to wear, packing a backpack of cameras, a computer, books to read, etc...(just in case the baby was to come) and that was all fine. But then when he started to make toast, was when I started loosing my cool. Seriously? C'mon! I sat on the couch for 15 minutes waiting for him. haha~ its was just funny, and understandable since he was pretty sick too...But it gave me a glimpse of what the real moment of labor might be like....so now I made it clear, that he too needs a hospital bag ready, because I will leave without him if he's not ready ;) haha!

Anyway, so we made our long trek to the hospital. People were driving record low speeds. 20-25 in 35 mph zones. so annoying, and the contractions were getting painful. We made it and they hooked me up to the iv and monitor for babies heart rate.. I told the nurse I was still feeling pretty nauseated, and that I might need a bucket. But she must have thought I was just being dramatic because she didn't bring me one.....until I threw up in the bathroom, then that bucket came right away. ha! I felt so bad because the babies heart rate was in the 170s when its normally supposed to be 145 or something. Poor thing was stressed out in there! After a few hours I had to do a urine sample to check my hydration, and the results still showed dehydration signs. And the baby hadnt mellowed out yet either. So they wanted me to stay the night. By 1 or 2 a.m. the babies heart beat was regulated, and my contractions had stopped. They had me stay to get rest and check on me in the morning. Im surprised they didnt check to see if I was dilated...By morning, we left the hospital, and I was feeling a little better. Just extremely tired, and hungry and thirsty since I ate 6 crackers for dinner and a few sips of water/apple juice. But man, that was NO fun! But im once again so thankful for IVs and medical care! Baby did not come early, and that is GREAT because I have/need more time to get house ready, and mentally/emotionally ready for this little lady!

Nesting

Nesting:

For a pregnant woman, nesting is an uncontrollable urge to clean and organize your house, while getting things ready for your baby.

Can I just say that this defines me in every way right now. Since we live in a small studio, I am thinking of all these ways to un-clutter, and make room for baby. Its driving me nuts, because it consumes my thoughts ALL day long and men just dont really understand, I keep saying all the things I want to do to the house, and I can tell he is thinking about the costly aspect of my ideas. .

Things I want to do:
-de-clutter and reorganize EVERY drawer, cabinet, shelf etc...
-get a storage unit to fill up with stuff!
-make new pillows for the couch
-get rug cleaned
-get rid of things I never use
-set up baby crib
-wash sofa covers
-clean the whole house from baseboards to ceiling fans! (luckily we live in a studio, right?)
-buy the last essentials for baby's arrival
-pack a hospital bag. ( I know, I still have 7 weeks till due date........)

This is just a few of the things I want to do, not only will it be hard (being enrolled as full time student) but also expensive. ugh!.....just venting. wish me luck! =)

This was such a fun trip before coming home to Hawaii. Im so glad I made it out back east, or else I wouldn't have seen David for a month! Thats just too long! When we got into the city we met up with friends and on our walk home late one night, we walked past a bar/restaurant that Justin Timberlake owns, I guess, and there were tons of people crowding the windows and Paparazzi was going crazy. He was inside with his band jamming! so we of course got in on the action.

And because David was starting work on Long Beach, I talked my Mum into meeting me in NYC! It was fun to cruise the city, see all the touristy sites (that I didn't get to do last time I was in NYC)

Took the ferry to see Lady Liberty and Ellis Island

Ate Jumbo Pizza slices!

went to ground zero and stared at the lights at Times Square

made it to the top of Empire State Building

Made it to the contest on Long Beach and chilled!

and much much more!

New York was a blast! Lost of seeing and walking! I was exhausted by the end of it, and was ready to come home!

My sister threw me an early baby shower with family and friends in Utah. It was so much fun to get together with everyone! We had a good chill, with ice cream and raspberry lemonade

Update

Its been a while since I posted anything! Its been very busy with family and fun! =)

I am 28 weeks along now and Im feeling pretty good! The second trimester is over and Im nervous about getting bigger and bigger! Time is flying by, and I cant believe that I only have 3 more months of this pregnancy business. I am loving the feeling the baby move all the time, even if it keeps me up at night! Its just so reassuring to feel her move and know that she is doing well, (and getting stronger) ;) She has actually made me say, "ow!" a couple of times.
Its been so much fun to show off my belly to all my family and friends, and to let my nieces and nephews feel the baby kick as well. I love seeing their reaction when they feel it! its so funny! My nephew wanted to see if he could hear anything one day, so I let him put his ear to my belly, and the babe kicked (or punched) him in the face. It was so funny! But things are good! Im feeling great and I have enough energy to keep up with all the activities with the family!

When we first arrived to CA, water was 70, and it was nice! I got a surf in, David would paddle out with the board, and I would swim out, and then I would just hop on the board when the waves came through and got some little waves. But that was my last surf. Shortly after, the water temp dropped into the lower 60's, so that was the end for me. I hate cold water! but my last surf was fun! and of course David documented with photos! =)

dont mind my flailing arms, balance is a bit off these days. ha!

This year we paddled out on boards and watched the fireworks! It was so cool, glad we did it because I dont think we'll be able to take baby out next year ;)

Half Way There

Well I am 20 weeks pregs and happy to say that Im a feelin FINE! =) a few weeks ago I realized, "Hey I havent thrown up in a few weeks!" and boy was that an awesome realization! I am enjoying eating again, and I am especially happy to report that I am exercising too! I am taking two classes this semester (just to fill a credit void) and its weight training and hula (both beginner classes) I was worried about the weights, but my doctor told me to do light weights, and if I have to grunt when lifting, its too much. And I will be the hottest Momma! ;) I liked that idea! And I've started a 6 week program that is really fun to do. The Hula class was a little hard at first, I was surprised because I have danced all through Jr. and High school, but man, Hula is so different. adding graceful hand movements with foot movements was a bit difficult, but Im getting the hang of it. Whenever Im not perfect (in my mind) at something, I think I totally suck. But my teacher basically told my little group that we are the best in the class, and she has expectations for us to improve more and get 100% on our dance test. But Its really fun, I wish I could dance more, I miss it! I also tried Zumba for the first time too! (moderated version, obviously) But it was at Turtle Bay with tons of people, it felt like a dance club. So Fun!

I had a check up one day and the doctor was having a hard time finding the heart beat. It freaked me out. She would find it for a sec and then it would be gone. and then again, then gone. So basically she was just having a party in my belly, dancing, and swimming around! ;)

We went in for our second ultra sound, I was so nervous to find out the gender, but excited to see it again. The u.s tech measured all of the babies parts, and it was so cool when she measured the heart, you could see all four chambers working away! and when it came to looking at its gender parts, the legs were pretty close together and she didnt want to say right away. so she looked at some other things and had me go to the bathroom. When I came back the baby was moving a ton. and the legs opened up and there didnt seem to be any "dangly parts" ha! its A GIRL! wow! It was so awesome! I think I wanted a boy or girl just as much, so I was happy! My dreams were right!

I was bummed on a few things though, the tech didnt take the best pictures, they are kinda blurry. The baby was moving, but I saw some great shots of the profile with the whole spine and everything, but she didnt take it. oh well! And she told me that the placenta is in a position where I probably wont feel the baby move as much, its at the front of my tummy, so I was sad at the thought I wont feel her as much.
BUT, as the days go by, I think I do feel her, its weird, like someone is flicking my insides, I cant feel it on the front of my tummy, but in the back... and its not gas.....or is it. No I definitely think its the babe, because its pretty frequent.

So thats my update, Im doing a million times better and we are having a little lady! David's going to be out numbered soon!

For the past few years, I have started numerous crafts.....and have not finished! The one thing about living so far away from town is when you run out of something.....you cant just hop in the car and run a quick errand to get it. So, when I run out or need something specific, the crafts go unfinished because we hardly ever go to town. and if we do its a costco run, and rush to a movie.
1.) a dress, which I definitely wont finish now that I have a growing belly.
2.) Christmas advent Calendar, you'll eventually see why it took me so long.
3.) A few baby outfits- reason: just unmotivated
4.) Birthday Banner
But.....Im proud to say that I have finally finished at least one!
I have wanted a simple Birthday banner for so long! just a simple fun decoration to put up for a week or so! So I finally got my butt to a craft store in town and got the remaining supplies to finish! and I did just in time..... David's Birthday is in 11 days! Whew.

Im really loving the finished product! =) It was a pretty easy project! hmmmm... what next...oh yeah, I have finals coming up. maybe there wont be a next anytime soon......

1st Trimester

The First trimester is several weeks behind me. I can go on and on about how crappy I have felt in the last three months. But instead I will just say that I have so much respect for all you moms out there. To go through this....more than once is pretty amazing. Its pretty much been an emotional roller coaster for us.

Well... where do I even start? I got really sick at around week 8 and had to go to the ER. I couldn’t keep ANY food or liquid down for three + days. I eventually couldn’t handle it anymore and got an IV, my body sucked up two bags of fluid. It was amazing how fast I started to feel better as I was rehydrated. But that was the worst week. I have a whole new respect for all you moms out there. Knowing that moms do this, and later want to go through it again seems crazy to me! The whole time I would keep telling David. “Im sorry we’re not having twins, because I don’t know if I can EVER do this again, Im miserable!”

But to have the first ultrasound, and see that little bean's heart beating, kicking its legs and punching its arms was pretty amazing. Its weird to think that something is alive in me! I cant wait for the pregnancy to get fun, finding out the gender, sport a bigger sweet belly, (because now it just looks like I ate a huge burrito and put on some unwanted pounds!)

Now that I am in the second trimester, I have super high days, and super lows. My fingers are crossed that things will get better and better. School has been tough, sitting in two hour classes at a time is not very fun, especially when I have to take a bathroom break and, lets just say my breakfast “goes missing”! ha! Im missing the days of energy and exercise. I haven't really done anything in 3 months. But Im slowly starting to get back into the swing of things. Hopefully you’ll be hearing from us a little more often now! =)

Remember when I said I will regret this???? I do. My butt may not looks like two yummy cinnamon rolls, but the saying is so true, you are what you eat! I realized that because I have an exercise class once a week, and its been a lot of running tests and calculating our fitness levels, so far I have only been getting fair results. Its felt really exhausting too. What? fair? and I am an Exercise and sports science major??? I need to be EXCELLENT!
So thats it! Im on a mission to eat better and exercise everyday, especially ab workouts. I dont care that I lose weight , but I just want to feel good and healthy!! Lets just call this my two months late New years resolution.

Maple Snickerdoodles

Yum yum and yum, cookies for breakfast never felt sooo right!

Maple Snicker doodles

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 cup margarine, softened

1 cup white sugar

3 tablespoons real maple syrup

1 egg

1/2 cup white sugar

1/4 cup maple sugar

-Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

-Stir flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Set aside.

-In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and 1 cup of white sugar until light and fluffy Then Beat in the egg and maple syrup.

-Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just mixed.

-In a small dish, mix together the remaining 1/2 cup white sugar and the maple sugar. ( I just used cin/sugar mixture since I dont have maple sugar)

-Roll dough into 1 inch balls, and roll the balls in the sugar mixture.

-Place cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet

-Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.

This year was a great Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving day, I spent hours making homemade pumpkin pie. And not from a can.....from a Real pumpkin. The night before Thanksgiving I woke up in the middle of the night fretting about the pie, since it was the item we were contributing to a dinner. Things like, having to use a round cake pan instead of a pie pan because foodland ran out. and that it would turn out nasty and the list went on and on. After an hour I forced myself to sleep. When I woke up I got to work and it really was a lot of fun, and I must say that im pretty proud of myself, getting all domestic and stuff ;0

We had Thanksgiving dinner with the Hannemann's. It was so nice to be with family friends and eat really good food. Someone made a spicy turkey and it was delicious! After dinner we had family night and watched the mormon Thanksgiving message. After that, David and I went to see Harry Potter! I was the happiest girl! It was a great day!

On Saturday, we cooked the turkey we bought a few weeks ago (before we were invited to be with friends) and it was a fun experience! The funniest thing that happened was David went to shake on crushed red pepper on the turkey, and the shaker wasnt on, and about 1/5 of the container spilt out on the bird. It was so funny, we got most of it off, needless to say the gravy was spicy, which i like and it turned out very yummy.

A little while after David filmed the U.S. Open in Huntington Beach, we went to Utah for some fam time and my cousin got Married! It was fun to actually be there, because I usually miss out on this kind of stuff, since I live so far away...

Trip # 2
The next trip was a last minute thing that David's Fam put together! We left not even a week later after we got home from the sequoias, and we drove all the way up to Redding, CA to Lake Shasta! It was so much fun being with almost ALL the Bowens. We spent a week in our cozy little cove, eating yummy food, wake boarding, wake surfing, water skiing, tubing the kids like crazy, laughing, star gazing.........needless to say my first Shasta experice left me wanting more and more!

Wow, we basically have been road tripping all summer!
Trip # 1, was with my family, We had 3 days and we drove to the Seqouias, crossed over to the coast and did the 17-mile drive, and Big Sur and our last stop was the little Scadanavian town, Solvang. It was so fun to see all those places! Lots of wildlife, Deer, fat sqirrels, seals, and David was the only lucky one to see the bear that crossed the road in his rear view mirror! We had perfect weather too! The Cali Coast is so beautiful!!!

So on behalf of good ol Valentines day we went on a bike ride along beach and had a picnic, and just chilled. That is what is so awesome about Hawaii, there are still places where you can be away from people and surrounded by nature! anyway. This was our day!

There is a lot of filming going on for Lost, and some other movie productions on the island. Last night we ate at one of the Turtle Bay restaurants (which is pretty common to see stars ever now and then)

We got our table and after a little while a couple got up to leave. As they passed our table, They both took a strong double take at David, and David just smiled.

After eating, there was another couple who was also leaving...They walked past us and also had a double take at David. They kept looking back and I saw the husband mouth to his wife, "Thats him!!!" They were sort of stalling, and hesitating to come up to him....and they ended up just leaving.

I told David and he just started laughing. I wish they would have come up to David, they would have been so bummed that it wasn't Owen. Ha ha!

Not only does he get it in the states, but all around the world too. One guy in Peru thought he WAS Owen Wilson, and he was sooo stoked to get a picture with David.

Hair-pretty similar, eyes-pretty different, nose-COMPLETELY different ha ha, mouth-not as pouty as owen.

When we were on the mainland, I forgot church clothes when we went to my families house. My older sister is basically the same size as me, but a totally different style of clothes. All I can say is that time flies! I cant believe it has been two years already!
Im grateful for David and that we are together forever!
They say the first years are the hardest, but for me they have been the funnest!

We went to Vegas for our anniversary, I knew that we were staying somewhere and going to see some show....but didn't know any details. . (have I mentioned that I love surprises :)

We stayed at Planet Hollywood! It was super duper nice!

After we checked in, we walked WAYY down the strip to Treasure Island and saw Mystere. All I can say is WOW, those people are so talented! Everyone has told me that this show is the best, so I was excited to be there and have 4th row seats =)

I didnt feel like I was very full until I stood up from my chair. I wanted to get a wheel chair ride back to our room. The elevator ride was full on the way back to the room, and as soon as everyone got off and it was just David and me, we looked at eachother and both said, "I think Im going to barf!" and the motion of the elevator was not making it easier. So as soon as we got to our room I collapsed on the bed......

really though, I never want to feel that full ever again! haha

Since my family was driving up to Utah on Christmas day, we got into our loot on Christmas eve. not a bad deal. =) and I got a Cricut from my Mum and Dad! =) thanks!!!!

Our Thanksgiving was really mellow. David had the day off, and was pretty tired from work, so we basically relaxed all day. Really mellow. We had Thanksgiving dinner with our landlords. Good company, great food!

My job was to make the cranberry sauce. First time, surprisingly easy, and tasty. but I prefer it on my rolls than meat.

David is filming for the Vans triple crown of surfing. We are so excited because it is definitely a great change of pace from teaching at the high school, and he gets to do what he LOVES. The Haleiwa Reef Pro contest is pau, but Sunset Beach Oneill World Cup should start this weekend, then following is the Billabong Pipeline Masters. Today, I didn't get called for work, and the contest wasn't running in Haleiwa, so David didn't work either. We spent the day surfing with friends, and lunch together and then running some errands.
We started off with a muddy water surf session at Kahana Valley! It has been raining a ton is, so all the rivers are letting out in the ocean. I was a little creeped out of the brown water, but we had fun getting some long waves! (the evening before was even more fun)

well the water was sure ugly, but the mountain in view were beautiful!!!

After the surf we ate at El Mariachi, very good mexican food, (blows Cholos out of the water) and they make the yummiest horchata I have EVER had! mmmmmm and Im not the only one who must think that because my friend Hurley came in and ordered only a horchata, to go! ha I had to get a picture with him for my Mum! ha!

This past summer, I went to the LA fabric district. and bought a bunch of fabric. Now its November and I have only done 2 sewing projects with the fabric. not so good. But I sure am excited for December when I go back to LA and get more goodies, and get a few sewing lessons from Mum (right mum?) because I think its about time I learn how to use a pattern.

It feels like just yesterday, David and I went to our senior prom together......

Well, for real, we went to savers (a thrift store that isn't the thriftiest, for instance, jeans that are crappy and cost 12 dollars...I mean c'mon, anyone could go to walmart and get pants for $10, brand new and they wont smell like old people) and spent almost an hour looking for something inspiring for Halloween. Things weren't going too well until I came across this beautiful emerald green dress. Haha! It was soooo hideous and completely ridiculous, I had to try it on. I previously made up my mind that I did not want to be anything 80s ever again for Halloween, because I feel that everyone is always 80s..... I dont know. BUT......when I slipped into that beauty, and it fit like a glove......I had a change of heart, and bought that $8 dress. It should have been cheaper because it was ripped up, but yeah yeah, oh well. It originally had long sleeves, and I cut them off, made puffy sleeves and since the dress was ripped I used some of the dress fabric for David's suspenders and bow tie! well anyway! we had fun all dressed up!

I wish we got more photos of everyone else we saw that night, but for some reason we didnt get very many....duh!

Dream Dream Dream

I came across A journal that I started keeping about 1 year ago. Its our Dream journal. I go through phases, where I dream so many dreams in one night and they are usually pretty wacky. Every morning We would wake up and David would be waiting for story time. ha! I thought it would be fun to share one of my wacky dreams! As David says, "These are not thoughts or day dreams, but pure nocturnal delights!"

When we were traveling in Thailand, I had a dream.......

I was getting ready to go on a big trip, and David and I went to the grocery store to buy something. David was trying to find a watch and he was contemplating over which one to buy, for such a long time.
(Pause)
*In Real life, we were at a shopping market and David really was looking for a watch, and he looked at the same kiosk for the longest time. needless to say, I was growing very impatient.*
(back to dreamland)
I could not wait any longer so I left him there. When I walked outside of the store, I came up to a V.W. bus, a total hippie van, and I got in the van with all my hippie friends and we drove off. We drove to a dock and launched right into the water and the van turned into some sort of boat. After a long while we were in the middle of the ocean, and decided to take a dip! We jumped off the boat and the water was so blue and crystal clear. But below us, the deep ocean, was a dark dark blue which was eerie because anything could swim at you from any direction. I got back on the boat and I looked into the distant horizon and spotted a small island. When we got closer there was a building that looked like it should be in Greece or something, and the island appeared only big enough for the building and nothing else. We reached the island and got off to check things out. It was an older looking building and looked abandoned and scary. Everyone was walking around it and couldn't find a way in. I leaned against a wall, and it pushed in and slid to the side. A secret door! Everyone was ecstatic and entered in. It was colorful inside, like a king's palace, red rug runners over all the marble floored halls, and a spectacular marble stair case. I was a little apprehensive to be there. I looked up toward the ceiling and there was a black gargoyle. Then I saw a black smokey dust come from it, like a ghost. Everyone was spooked and ran outside and up a small hill. On the other side of the hill, the island showed to be larger that it had appeared and there was a HUGE community of Hippies living there.....

haha and that was only one of the dreams I had that night. honestly, how do I even get rest in the night!

David and I were married 1 year 8 months and 15 days ago. Someone from my home stake was so nice and made tiny goodie bags of chocolate and a little message for all our guests to have. Well, none of our guests left with these goodies. The day was so busy and we forgot. David and I were left with the whole lot of chocolate, we took it home with us and snacked on them every so often.....after awhile we forgot about them again....now that I have rediscovered them, I think its a little too late to eat em' any more, hence the gross smell of 1 year, 8 month, and 15 day old chocolate......

I thought that it would be fun to have a tie dye shirt that wasnt a big sleepover type t-shirt. I got this shirt for 5 bucks to test my tie dying expertise.

I fan folded the shirt, but you can do any fold you want or bunch up circles with rubber bands.

After folding it all up, roll it into a ball and add as many rubber bands as you want.

Place balled up shirt into a bucket of water and bleach. Leave in as long as you want. 10-15 minutes is probably good.

And there you go! Tie dye achieved. I really like the stripes that came out! oh yeah!

Happiest Place on Earth. 3 days in a week. wow

One of the days we went to D-land, it was sooo hot. 102 deg. so we were ALL for the water rides. even though we wore ponchos, we still got wet. With out them, we would have been drenched.

The three days were so worth it. A lot of walking. But nice to not be in a rush to get it all done in one day! Thanks Mom and Dad for the gift!

This year I had quite the birthday......It started almost a month early. Since the whole Bowen family was together early in the month, they gave me a gift so they could watch me open it. a quick rewind.....I have been wanting a brown leather purse. I have plenty of purses, but all of them have a lot of busy patterns..and dont go with all they things I wear, so im my head I decided that I really needed a purse. I probably drove David crazy......and what a lift off of his shoulders when he didnt have to get it for me! and....so I got one. Thanks to the Bowens and Martinez'! I absolutely love it. smells so good! My parents also got me a 3 day hopper pass to Disney land.

Besides all that, we spent the Day in Del Mar. Surfed, ate at our favorite mexican place, and just hung out! It was a good day! I love being with my families!!!!! Thanks all for making my birthday extra special!!!!

Eating at Juanitas! rolled tacos and guacamole. Carne Asado Burrito. All for me....It was for David too!

Holly and I had a joint party. We made angel food cake for each other.

Barton Flats

Our family used to camp every summer at Barton Flats. It was something that us kids always looked forward to. Unfortunately, bears became such a problem, that we stopped going. I cant remember when, but it has been almost 10 years. This year we gave it a go. No bears. A lot of fun to be there again and show David our old stomping grounds! =)

This is the hallow tree that we would always play in. Not as big as I remember.....;) But we managed to squeeze in for a photo.

Chad turned 16! oh yeah! and I found the sweetest table cloth. so Proud.

We hiked for two hours to the creek. It was my first time doing this, because I would always drive with my parents to the creek while the "big kids" would hike.

Padres

Since we have been in San Diego, we have gone to a couple padres games. Im not a huge fan of any particular team, but I was really into the games we went to and watched all the plays! The first game was super fun. lots of home runs, and an all together exciting game. The second game was pretty dull actually.....the score board read 2-0, 0-0, 0-0, 0-0.....and on and on. finally in the very last inning, the padres had the bases loaded and the batter clocked a home run! We won! after that is was a great game. oh, summer fun!

Surfing the Wake!

On the lake, out of all the water sports, we mostly wake surfed. It was super fun! Im not super great at wake boarding, I can get up and cruise here and there, but no tricks or anything fun to watch. But I sure had a ton of fun surfing! It was really cool to feel how you need to move your body to stay in the wave. I feel like really helped me understand the movements in surfing. But anyway, Super fun, and I keep dreaming about it! I want more!
